The Grand i10 is a noble car which has been the bread and butter vehicle of Hyundai for a long time. But lately, it has been feeling the heat due to increased competition from other vehicles such as the Tata Tiago, Mahindra KUV100 and even the lower variants of its elder sibling, the i20 Elite. Thus to wisen up with changing times, Hyundai has decided to revamp the Grand i10 variant line-up and even add an automatic transmission to the mid variant of the car.
The Korean company has introduced automatic transmission option to the mid-trim Magna variant (petrol only) and has also decided to delete the Asta variant, which was sold without ABS. With this rejig, the Grand i10 automatic petrol is now sold in Magna and top-spec Asta (O) variants only.
Hyundai has also axed the 1.0-litre LPG variant of the hatchback. One should also take note that the Magna variant does not come with airbags and ABS. The automatic transmission equipped Magna variant of the car will retail for Rs. 5.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Hyundai has taken this step keeping customers’ demand in mind.

The Hyundai Grand i10 petrol is powered by 1.2-litre Kappa Dual VTVT engine that develops 82 BHP of power at 6000 RPM and 160 Nm of torque mated to 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmissions.
