MV Agusta made a fine entry into the Indian market, but currently has only three motorcycles in its line-up. Well worry not, the company has assured that the Brutale 800 will launch by December.
Legendary Italian motorcycle manufacturer MV Agusta is slowly but steadily beginning to receive its fair share of attention among Indian enthusiasts. If you’ve been following the launch of its motorcycles lately, you’d notice that the company has launched just three motorcycles from its stable. The motorcycles include the fully-faired 800cc F3, the litre-class F4 and the naked Brutale 1090.
Now mind you, these motorcycles do come at a price, starting at Rs. 16 lakhs, going all the way up to half a crore for the limited edition MV Agusta F4 RC, which also makes it India’s most expensive two wheeler. Well most of us here can only sit and smile at these prices, but there is also some good news at the bottom end of that spectrum. MV Agusta’s ‘cheapest’ offering in India, the Brutale 800, which essentially is the naked sibling of the F3, is set to launch before the start of 2017.
One can expect it to be priced at around Rs. 14 lakh or thereabouts which by the way, is still a couple of lakhs over the Honda CBR 1000R and the Kawasaki Z1000. Even if we compare it with its Italian counterparts, it would come at a Rs. 4 lakh premium over the Ducati Monster 821. That being said, anyone with even little knowledge of motorcycles would know that each brand brings it own uniqueness and has its own set of benefits for the rider, and the Brutale 800 sure is a unique motorcycle.
Powering the motorcycle is a 798cc in-line 3-cylinder engine, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine produces 118 PS of power at 11,500 RPM and 83 Nm of torque at 7,600 RPM. While it doesn’t represent sheer ‘madness’ like is elder siblings, it is more than capable of sending shivers down the riders spine. We definitely cannot wait to get our hands on it once its here!
