Nissan India has taken the first step to export a test consignment pf six Micra cars from its plant in Chennai to Spain. Trial transportation for exports is a very important milestone for the company as it gears up for exports to Europe from second half of 2010. India will be one of the a major production hubs for the Japanese car major as it plans to ship cars to more than 100 countries in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. The company plans to export around 1,10,000 cars out of India in 2011 and increase it to 1,80,000 in the future. Production of the Nissan Micra for the India market will begin next month and for the export market in July. The Micra will be launched in May and will be priced at Rs. 4.25 – 5.25 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
