Moto Guzzi confirms it is bringing it’s V9 twins, the Roamer and the Bobber to India. Powered by the same twin-cylinder 850cc engine, these bikes exhibit the Italian marque’s classic styling.
Europe’s oldest bike maker Moto Guzzi continues to bombard us with its slew of Italian beauties. They started with the Bellagio in 2013, followed by the California 1400 Custom and the gorgeous V7 II. It didn’t stop there, the Audace has recently landed on our shores through the CBU route.
Moto Guzzi it seems is in no mood to relent, as they have confirmed that they are bringing the V9 Bobber and the Roamer to India. Hailing from the Custom range of bikes, both these models are positioned between the V7 II and the Audace. Visually similar, the V9 Bobber and Roamer sport scrambler type styling and are clearly aimed at the casual rider.
The twin-cylinder 850cc engine seems to be the centre piece, around which the bikes are based. A single piece seat, simple offset console, round headlamp, minimalist tail and those fat tires are reminiscent of the old school bobber bikes that racers built in Post-War America.
The V-Twin engine powering the V9 Bobber and the Roamer is said to produce 55 HP of power at 6250 RPM and 62 Nm of torque at a low 3000 RPM, indicating its intent of cruising at low speeds. A 320 mm disc at the front and a 260 mm disc at the rear take care of the braking. Both bikes sport a host of safety features like ABS, Traction Control and Brembo brakes. The 16” rims sport 130/90 tires at the front and 150/80 at the rear. A simple console sits atop the headlamp with the speedo as the main focus.
It isn’t all similar between these Italian beauties, where the Roamer is all chrome; the Bobber is a bit sober in its design because it sports the all black treatment from the wheels to the exhaust and even the mirrors. Globally, Moto Guzzi offers the Bobber in black and grey and the Roamer in three gorgeous colours: yellow, white and red, along with subtle racy stripes all along the body that add to the visual appeal.
