The gutsy bike manufacturer has announced that the BMW GS 310R adventure bike is under development and will be the mini version of the BMW G310R. The new GS 310R is likely to be launched in 2017.
BMW Motorrad UK official announced that the company is planning to develop the mini version of its latest touring bike, the G310R which was launched last year globally. The upcoming BMW GS 310R will be developed under the BMW-TVS collaboration. It will be the third product to be nurtured under the BMW-TVS agreement after the G310R and the TVS Akula 310.
The new BMW GS 310R is likely to be be a derivative of the BMW G310R. The GS 310R may have a 310cc or above liquid cooled engine with the other tech specifications inspired by the G310R. The mini adventurer’s single cylinder engine would produce around 34 BHP and torque of about 24 Nm. It would have BMW’s GS-family based design along with long suspensions to meet up the touring bike characteristics. The G310R is a premium touring bike with naked look design and its sibling is supposed to share the same design DNA.
Like the BMW G310R, the mini tourer will be developed in Germany by BMW Motorrad and its Indian production may be done by TVS in India (Hosur plant). The GS 310R will play a vital role in the choice of Indian adventure bike lovers as the bike will meet the German motorcycle maker’s quality standards. It may be assumed that with the GS 310R, BMW is aiming for an all-round comfort package in a competitive market price. The modern idea of BMW for the mini GS may get rivalry from the upcoming KTM 390 adventure bike.
