The second generation Toyota Innova will be launched in India on 3rd May and engine details of the vehicle have been leaked ahead of its launch.
After a lot of anticipation and speculation, Japanese automaker Toyota is all geared up to launch the second generation Innova in India on 5th May 2016. The first generation of the MPV was a massive success in the country and hence the company has a lot of hopes with this one. The new Toyota Innova will be offered with a choice of two diesel engines and details about these have been leaked in a picture of the brochure.
The 2016 Toyota Innova will be offered in 4 variants – GX, GX Automatic, VX and ZX Automatic. The smaller engine is a 2.4-litre unit producing 149 HP of power and 343 Nm of torque while the bigger engine is a 2.8-litre unit churning out 174 HP of power and 360 Nm of torque. The Innova will be offered with a choice of both manual as well as automatic transmissions.
In terms of looks, the new Innova gets quite a lot of significant changes over the outgoing model. The MPV now looks much more fresh and modern. The interiors also see a massive rejig and the new Innova is touted to be more spacious and comfortable. Toyota will also load the car with a lot of equipment and features.
The 2016 Toyota Innova is expected to be priced between Rs. 18-24 lakhs (on-road) which is significantly more than the previous model. However, the older generation was known for its reliability and ease of ownership and it is likely that the new Innova will also make a huge fanbase for itself.
