The KTM website was temporarily updated showing a new colour for the 2016 KTM RC 200 street racer bike. A comprehensive update of the motorcycle will be launched next year.
The KTM RC 200 is a street racing bike which offers razor sharp handling and tonnes of fun at relatively affordable prices. Like all great things, the bike also has its share of quirks such as you can buy the motorcycle in any colour you want, as long as it is black. But it seems KTM is now planning to expand the colour palette for the bike by one whole new offering – white.
The Indian section of the KTM website was silently updated for some time to display the 2016 KTM RC 200 in a black-white combination paint job with KTM graphics. The exposed trellis frame and the alloy wheels are still painted in traditional KTM orange colour though. The motorcycle used to look sinister in black but this new paint job looks equally great and is set to attract more fans.
Many of the earlier grouches of the bike will be addressed in the near future such as the absence of ABS, along with the addition of a host of new features. The recent update to the bike also gave it auto headlamps, NOK seal and plastic flaps on front forks, adjustable handlebar levers (not for India), new ECU dampers, better quality alloy wheels and new vapour recovery system for the fuel tank.
KTM introduced the RC 200 in India in 2014 and the bike is still a very good and extremely well-engineered affordable performance two-wheeler in the country. The motorcycle is powered by a 199.5cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor tuned to produce 26 BHP of power and 19.2 NM of torque. The full-faired machine also features many track focused elements such as a trellis frame, alloy swingarm and a digital instrument cluster with data logging and telematics.
