Maruti Suzuki launched the Vitara Brezza after much anticipation and the compact SUV’s bookings have now begun, with deliveries slated to begin by the end of the month.
Amidst much fanfare, Maruti Suzuki launched the Vitara Brezza compact SUV after a lot of buzz. The vehicle was first showcased as a concept 4 years back while the production version was revealed at the recently concluded 2016 Auto Expo. Bookings for the Vitara Brezza have now begun starting from today.
Deliveries of the Maruti Vitara Brezza will commence from 31st March and Maruti is aiming to sell at least 1 lakh units of the car this year. Maruti is aiming high to get a leadership in this segment in the next 12-24 months. Officials from the automaker stated that if the size of the segment grows to 1.5-2 lakh units a year, they are aiming to capture at least 45-50% market share.
Maruti was earlier planning to manufacture 80,000 units of the car this year but looking at the great response that the vehicle received at the Auto Expo, the company pumped up its annual production capacity to 1 lakh units. Maruti officials feel that the segment will grow by 6-7% this year and they are expecting a double digit growth for themselves.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza has been priced between Rs. 6.99 – 9.68 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it is undercutting the Ford EcoSport by a major difference. Along with that, the Vitara Brezza is also priced lower than the Mahindra TUV300 by a considerable amount. Maruti is likely to gain a lot of success with this compact SUV while rivals will have to buck up.
