The new small crossover concept will be showcased at the Geneva Motor Show next week and it will be the automaker’s smallest crossover while being built on the MQB platform.
Volkswagen has teased images of a new subcompact crossover concept just ahead of the 2016 Geneva Motor Show where the new concept will be showcased for the first time. The German automaker is reported to be working on this concept for quite sometime now and it is expected to be an entry-level crossover smaller than the Tiguan.
The images published fulfil their purpose of hiding the overall design while giving a hint about it. However, it reveals a lot of aspects on the front fascia such as the LED headlights with LED DRLs and a thin grille along with LED inserts that seems to be borrowed from the T-Roc concept showcased at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
Volkswagen has stated that the interiors will be similar to the BUDD-e electric concept showcased at the Consumer Electric Show in Las Vegas last month which means that the crossover will have very few buttons and most of the functions will be carried out through touchscreen surfaces while the infotainment system will be able to recognise voice commands and gestures.
No official information about the powertrains is out yet so we will have to wait until next week for the gates of the Geneva Motor Show to open. It will be built on Volkswagen’s MQB platform that underpins most of the vehicles globally while the Audi A3, Skoda Superb, Skoda Octavia are some of the cars sold in India to be built on this platform.
