After a long wait, Jeep finally enters the Indian market by showcasing the off-road oriented Wrangler SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo.
FCA has geared up to commence Jeep operations finally in India after a long wait. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is being showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo thats getting great attention to their stall. The Jeep Wrangler looks very rugged and confident with its off-road stance. It looks tall, sizeable and has some interesting retro styling cues that reminds us of the original Jeep days. The muscular 4×4 vehicle will be the entry level product in the Jeep lineup positioned below the Grand Cherokee.
The interior of the Jeep Wrangler is relatively basic for its off-road oriented nature and practicality. The Wrangler is spacious on the inside. Some of the key features include Command-Trac Shift-on-Fly, Part-Time 4WD system, 17-inch wheels and more. Powering the Jeep Wrangler is a 3.6-litre V6 petrol motor that churns out 275 BHP of power and 359 Nm of torque. The engine will come mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox.
Sales of the Jeep vehicles will begin by mid-2016 and the automaker is expecting to sell 1500-2000 units in 2017. Until FCA sets up premium dealerships of Jeep across India in certain cities, the vehicles will be sold through Fiat dealerships. The Jeep products will be competing against the premium brands such as BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Land Rover and the likes.
