Jaguar has launched the XE in India and the vehicle is going to compete with the Mercedes C-Class, Audi A4 and BMW 3-Series.
After a lot of anticipation, Jaguar has finally launched the XE in India. This luxury sedan is aimed at the younger generation of millionaires who like travelling in style and want something that looks sporty indeed. The XE looks like the mini version of the XF and quite a few styling elements do look similar. The XE also comes with the trademark Jaguar grille and headlamps design. The side profile is pretty much clean while the rear is also pretty much similar to the XF.
The interiors follow a slightly different design philosophy though. The dashboard is neatly laid out and the centre console looks clutter-free. The AC vents, door vents, etc. look very sharp too. The sedan gets features like mood lighting, Meridian audio system, Softgrain Windsor leather seats, surround camera system and a panoramic sunroof too. The vehicle also gets All Surface Progress Control and torque vectoring by braking.
The Jaguar XE is offered with a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 200 PS of power in the base variant and 240 BHP in the top-end variant. A 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 180 PS of power will be introduced later. The engines send power to the rear wheels and are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Jaguar XE competes with the Mercedes C-Class, BMW 3-Series and Audi A4. The prices start from Rs. 39.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) which makes it one of the most expensive cars in the segment.
The two variants of the Jaguar XE are priced as follows:
- XE Pure – Rs. 39.90 lakhs
- XE Portfolio – Rs. 46.50 lakhs
*All prices ex-showroom, Delhi.
