The Chevrolet Cruze facelift is being showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo that was launched last week in India with prices starting from Rs. 14.68 lakhs.
GM India launched the Chevrolet Cruze facelift last week and the sedan gets some new updates. The latest update of the Cruze sedan has been introduced as a stop-gap measure until the new generation Cruze arrives in India next year with an all-new design and interiors. The current generation Cruze has been updated for a better package and fresh appearance.
Up front the Cruze facelift gets a new grille with heavy dose of chrome and LED DRLs integrated on the bumpers along with projector fog lamps while the headlamps don’t get projectors. The styling tweaks at the front makes it look sharper. However, there are no changes on the side profile as the alloys remain unchanged. The rear just gets a lip spoiler on the boot.
The most significant change on the inside is the MyLink infotainment system that we had previously seen on the Chevrolet TrailBlazer SUV. The touchscreen audio system comes with comprehensive connectivity options with a smartphone and is very convenient as compared to the small inconvenient audio system provided on the pre-facelift Cruze.
The interiors of the Cruze update remains unchanged otherwise having all-black treatment across the cabin with silver elements on the dashboard, which still looks quite cool. Space on the inside considering the rivals is a bit less and the Cruze is a strictly driver oriented car and not for those seeking for chauffeur driven comfort. There are 4 airbags along with ABS, EBD and ESC making it a safe car.
Powering the 2016 Cruze facelift is the same 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces a peak power output of 166 PS and 380 Nm of massive torque making it one of the most powerful cars in its segment. The Cruze comes with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. Manual version returns a claimed 17.9 km/l while the automatic gearbox returns 14.81 km/l of fuel efficiency.
