The Jeep Grand Cherokee has been showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and this brute packs in a lot of punch and feels premium too.
Fiat has been playing with the emotions of us enthusiasts since a long time by not launching the Jeep brand in India. The automaker has finally showcased the Jeep Grand Cherokee and it has been getting a lot of positive buzz here at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Grand Cherokee looks absolutely tough and butch and is quite a looker. The bumpers, head and tail lights, grille, etc. have a lot of detail in them and overall the vehicle is finished beautifully.
The dashboard looks very good and the centre console houses a large screen and some buttons underneath. The gear selector knob looks pretty cool and as a whole package, the interiors do feel very luxurious. The driver information display measures 7-inches in size while the infotainment system gets an 8.4-inch screen. The SUV also gets a BluRay entertainment system at the rear. Other features like a navigation system, Selec-Terrain System, Quadra-Lift suspension system are also available.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 EcoDiesel engine. Other engine options include a 3.6-litre PentaStar V6 engine, 5.7-litre HEMI V8 and SRT 6.4-litre HEMI V8 powerplants. It remains to be seen what engine options will be made available in the Indian market but we think the diesel variants are going to be the most popular out here. The SUV is available in 4×4 and 4×2 trims. The Jeep Grand Cherokee competes with the Land Rover Discovery 4.
