The Benelli TRK 502 is gets a promising design language with appreciable power output and boasts of a competitive price tag thanks to local assembly.

The Indian hardcore touring lover has had a few choices to look forward to in the past, which has changed for the better in the recent years. The latest adventure tourer to join the list is the Benelli TRK 502 that has been showcased at the ongoing 13th Auto Expo in Delhi, expected to be priced at under Rs. 6 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Revealed at EICMA last year, the TRK 502 is likely to be the most affordable twin-cylinder tourer you can get your hands on and packs a lot of punch and some very interesting design details as well. Rugged and muscular, the Benelli TRK 502 measures 2380 mm in length, 912 mm in width and 1465 mm in height, and looks good with the quintessential off-roading character sporting a twin headlight set-up up front while the tall windscreen and half fairing ensure minimal wind blast is directed towards the rider.

The 815 mm seat height ensures the bike feels home for riders of all sizes while the large rear seat can easily accommodate the pillion. Further, you get an analog-digital instrument console, knuckle guards and the raised handlebar, the exposed frame and the very interesting multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Other salient bits include a massive ground clearance of 230 mm, a 20-litre fuel tank capacity as well as 320 mm and 260 mm front and rear disc brakes with ABS. Power on the Benelli TRK 502 comes from a 499.6cc twin-cylinder motor (same as Leoncino) tuned for 47.6 HP of power and 45 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

The bike gets 50 mm USD front forks and a monoshock rear setup while ensuring maximum traction are the 120/70/R19 front and 160/60/R17 rear Pirelli Angel tyres. Packed on mechanicals, Benelli does seem to have a promising product, more so since the model is being assembled in India making for a competitive price tag.
