The Volkswagen Polo and Vento are one such pair of siblings that have got countless number of updates in the last couple of years. The Vento received a minor refresh just 6-7 months ago where the company gave the C-segment sedan some small tweaks like re-designed bumpers, headlamps and tail lights and a new grille. Looks like Volkswagen hasn’t had enough and now they are all geared up to launch one more minor update for the Vento.

This time around, the Volkswagen Vento will continue to have the same 3-slat grille but the sedan gets new smoked headlamps that come with L-shaped DRLs. This is the only change to this model and apart from this, everything remains completely the same. The vehicle still gets the chrome garnish on the front and rear bumpers while the tail lights carry the same design that was introduced during the previous update. The design of the alloy wheels also seems to be unchanged.

The mechanicals on the Volkswagen Vento will also remain completely unchanged. The vehicle is offered with three engine options. The petrol engine is a 1.6-litre MPI unit that is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. On offer is another petrol engine which is a turbocharged 1.2-litre TSI unit that is offered with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. Then there is also the 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine that comes with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed DSG transmission.

The Volkswagen Vento competes in the tough C-segment. Honda has been ruling the market with the City while Maruti has also ensured that no one beats the Ciaz when it comes to sales. The Vento’s sales figures are much lower than these two rivals but it seems that Volkswagen is not loosing hope. The new Vento is likely to be launched at the 2016 Auto Expo. Currently, the vehicle is priced between Rs. 7.85-11.87 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the new one might get costlier by approximately Rs. 10,000/-.
