The highly awaited TVS Apache 200 has entered its final stages of testing as certain dealerships report of the launch scheduled on 20th January 2016. While that surely is keeping us excited, some new details have emerged from Indonesia, where the flagship motorcycle was caught testing for the nth time. As per the report, it is believed that there could be different variants of the Apache 200 that could go on sale and the premium versions could get Pirelli tyres, which were seen wrapped on the test mule.

The report suggests that the base versions of the TVS Apache 200 will come with IRC Roadwinner tyres while the Pirelli rubber could be seen on the more premium variants that will also get dual-channel ABS. Previous spy shots had also showcased the new Apache being tested with clip-on as well as a wide handlebar on the test mules that further opens room for the possibility of different variants going on sale. That said, a host of information is very much under wraps and will be available towards the end of next month.

On the outset, the 2016 TVS Apache 200 is expected to be powered by a 200cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with oil-cooling that will be tuned for around 25 BHP and 22 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Telescopic forks do duty up front with a monoshock unit at the rear while braking performance will come from the disc brakes at the front and rear. Inspired from the Draken concept in terms of design, the Apache will get several salient bits including LED tail light and indicators, split seats, an interesting looking exhaust muffler and an all digital instrument console.

In addition to the BMW G310R, TVS will be gauging customer response for the Apache 200 at the 2016 Auto Expo which is expected to be a direct competitor to the KTM Duke 200. If previous reports are to be believed, the new Apache 200 will be capable of doing the 0-60 km/hr sprint in less than 3.5 seconds and is being tuned to fight the Austrian in every way possible. With the rumour mill keeping us excited, we can hardly wait to test the fastest TVS yet.
