The Yamaha M-Slaz gets a segment first LED headlight cluster while the styling too is extremely radical when compared with siblings MT-25 and MT-09.
While it shares most of its mechanicals with the R15, the new Yamaha M-Slaz has some attributes unique to itself that definitely stand out. Case in point being the segment first LED headlights that look splendid in the sharply designed cluster. Now, new images of the headlight working have surfaced online showing the headlight illuminated in all three modes. Reminiscent to the Kawasaki Z800, the headlight cluster on the bike comes with an LED DRL in the centre of the wide unit.
When switched to low beam, the entire cluster is illuminated while the high beam is located on top in a squarish unit. Interestingly, when the high beam is switched on, the entire headlamp is lit instead of only the high beam light as it happens in the conventional case. Apart from the LED headlight, the Yamaha M-Slaz also gets USD front forks and single unit starter switch that are a rather interesting additions to the package.
Some folks didn’t just stop there, a highly accessorised version of the Yamaha M-Slaz with an Ohlins shock absorber, redesigned headlamp cowl, hand guards, crankcase cover, radiator shield and rear mudguard were also showcased in Thailand. The Ohlins rear shock absorber is tuned for improved track riding and is expected to be priced between Rs. 17,000-24,000/- (Indian equivalent) when it goes on sale. The other accessories are designed towards rider safety and also add to the good looks of the M-Slaz.
In addition, Yamaha enthusiasts in Thailand have photographed the new M-Slaz with its siblings the MT-25 and MT-09 showcasing the different styling on each of the models. The M-Slaz is the second smallest street-fighter in Yamaha’s MT-series and looks radical over the bigger models. In comparison, the MT-25 (naked R25) looks more sedate with clean lines, simplistic front and a rather bulky appearance; whereas the motard MT-09 looks extremely fun with the three headers conveying its performance capabilities.
