Bajaj Auto’s next big launch is the Pulsar CS 400 which will be launched by the end of this fiscal year or early next fiscal. It will take on popular Royal Enfield cruisers.
Bajaj Auto surprised everyone by unveiling the naked Pulsar CS 400 cruiser on 5th February 2014. The Cruiser Sport took the centre stage at the auto show and is inspired from the daddy of sport cruisers, the Ducati Diavel. For the bike aficionados, the wait is almost over, the beast is set to be launched by April 2016. This distant cousin of the KTM Duke 390 would shoulder lot of hopes from enthusiasts who have been waiting for a go anywhere ability bike with performance as an added glory. The brand Pulsar is set to scale new heights with the launch of their 400 twins (the RS will come later).
The Pulsar CS 400 boasts of impressive specs with attention to detail, powered by the same fuel-injected 373.2cc liquid-cooled 4-valve single-cylinder engine, like to produce 40 BHP and 32 Nm of maximum torque. It will employ the same 6-speed gearbox that can be found doing duty on the KTM Duke 390. With an expected top speed of 170 km/hr, braking duties would be ABS assisted (hopefully not a single channel). Its super sport cousin, the Pulsar RS 400’s launch is set to happen later and thwarting claims on the Pulsar CS 200 making into production due to the presence of the Avengers which cater to a similar audience.
Bajaj Auto is set to re-Discover their commuter space with a budget brand comprising of 100cc and 125cc bikes, after pulling the plug on several Discover models. With the re-launch of the CT 100, the company is desperate to clinch back market share it has lost to its contemporaries. Though the effect of their decision is yet to be sensed, Bajaj is set to not lose any opportunity in reclaiming their position, we can just wish them good luck at their endeavour to add some spice in the already flooded commuter space.
