Maruti Suzuki has received over 56,000 footfalls for the Baleno in the last 2 weeks while the bookings stand at 21,000 units. The automaker hopes to sell 15,000 cars on Dhanteras.
Maruti Suzuki understands the festive season very well and ensured to introduce a slew of products at the right time in order to spike sales. The biggest launch was most obviously the Baleno hatchback that has taken off to an impressive start and is garnering an overwhelming response. Since its launch in October, Maruti has managed to record around 21,000 bookings for the premium hatchback and witnessed over 56,000 footfalls at NEXA dealerships over the last two weeks.
Maruti hit the jackpot in terms of pricing with the Baleno undercutting rival Hyundai Elite i20 by a healthy margin across all variants. The automaker has also packed some good tech on the premium hatchback including a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, projector headlamps with LED DRLs and a CVT autobox that have certainly given the car a competitive edge over rivals. The best part though is the fact it is not only the Baleno that is doing well for the Indian auto giant.
Maruti Suzuki’s latest launches include the Ertiga SHVS facelift, Ciaz SHVS, Swift limited edition and Wagon R AMT, not to forget the relatively new S-Cross. Banking on these new set of launches, the company is aiming to sell around 15,000 vehicles on Dhanteras this year, a day considered to be extremely auspicious to purchase new products. Compared to the 11,500 units sold last year on the same day, the automaker will be witnessing a jump of 30 percent which does not seem too optimistic factoring in the strong demand.
Moreover, Maruti conveyed that low interest rates and decreasing fuel prices have also been additional factors creating a positive sentiment in the market and have seen volumes grow for all manufacturers. It is a similar case with rival Hyundai as well that aims to deliver over 12,000 cars on Dhanteras, instead of the average 1100 units delivered everyday. Automakers including Ford, Renault and Honda have also witnessed impressive growth this festive season courtesy of their new launches.
