The new Bajaj Avenger Street 150 carries over the frame and styling from the 220cc model while power comes from a new 149cc engine.
Targeted at a wider set of buyers, Bajaj Auto has expanded its Avenger cruiser range with an all-new offering called the Avenger Street 150 priced at Rs. 75,000/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). The smallest Avenger to go on sale, the automaker is looking to tap the young cruiser lovers who want an offering that is easy to commute while also enjoyable during the weekend cruising trips. Based on the same platform as the Avenger 220 models, the Street 150 measures the same as the bigger models in dimensions while the kerb weight stands at 148 kgs.
The 2015 Bajaj Avenger Street 150 comes with the same modern styling as the Street 220 but gets a new midnight blue shade finished in matte. The cruiser comes with a lowered handlebar, new grab rail, alloy wheels, striking yellow graphics, clear lens indicators, new instrument cluster with a digital meter, revised cushion with added foaming for enhanced comfort, brighter headlamp, new insignia among a host of other details.
In terms of power, the Bajaj Avenger Street 150 uses a 149cc single-cylinder engine tuned to produce 14.5 PS at 9000 RPM and 12.5 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM, paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike gets telescopic front forks and twin shocks at the rear while braking performance comes from the a 240 mm disc at the front and a 130 mm drum at the rear. The Street 150 does not have any competition in the segment at present, but could see some cruisers coming in if certain Chinese manufacturers finally commence sales.
