The latest TVC for the RS 200 keeps the sporty theme alive on the Pulsar series with the interesting daredevil-like visuals.
Over the years, the Bajaj Pulsar series has been known for its exciting ads as much for the product itself. Strong and overwhelming visuals have been the forte of Pulsar adverts and while some may have been pushed to the legendary status, most are very much recorded in the enthusiast’s mind. After releasing the demonic TVC for the RS 200 black shade a few weeks ago, Bajaj Auto has now introduced a new advert featuring the RS 200 in red and yellow colours with the tagline ‘Make life a sport’.
True to the older ads, the new TVC keeps the sporty theme alive with the striking visuals creating quite an impact. The stunts are very much in place with burnouts, wheelies and stoppies and adding that flare is the element of fire. While the demon black TVC was subtle in appeal, the new advert is all about fun and incorporates the idea of the RS 200’s quick acceleration and sporty handling characteristics rather well.
Much like the advert itself, Bajaj too played with fire moving out of its comfort and developed an outlandish design language for the RS 200, radically different from the one seen on the older 220F or the 200 NS models. Despite the subjective looks, sales of the flagship Bajaj have been strong since its launch earlier this year and the potent mechanicals have played an important role in the same with power coming from the single-cylinder 199.5cc engine updated with fuel-injection tuned for 24.5 PS and 18.6 Nm of torque.
Underneath that fairing, the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 uses a perimeter frame with telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock setup at the rear. Hampering performance though is the hefty 165 kg kerb weight on the automaker’s first full faired offering.
