The new TVS Sport gets updated with new set of features including electric start, sporty instrument cluster, new grab rail, and improved fuel economy of 95 km/l.
With improved fuel efficiency and a new set of features added to the list, TVS Motor Company has launched the refreshed Sport 100cc motorcycle in the country priced at Rs. 36,880/- (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base variant. The biggest update to the new TVS Sport comes in terms of economy as the commuter now returns 95 km/l under standard riding conditions, which is an appreciable increment from the outgoing model’s 87.7 km/l figure. The update comes as part of the automaker’s plan to introduce refreshed models every quarter.
The improvement in fuel economy figures comes courtesy of the TVS Sport’s DuraLife engine that has been tweaked with chrome plated piston rings and roller cam follower that lead to reduced friction and creates less stress on the engine, thereby improving the efficiency levels on the motorcycle. The automaker has also refined the ignition timing that complements the overall low dry mass and further adds to the improved mileage. In addition to the tweaked motor, the TVS Sport now features an all gear electric start, aluminium grab rail, chrome muffler guard and a sporty instrument cluster as part of the update list.
In terms of mechanicals, the TVS Sport uses a 99.7cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine tuned to produce 7.5 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 7.5 Nm of torque at 5000 RPM, paired to a 4-speed gearbox. The bike rides on telescopic front suspension and a 5-stage adjustable setup at the rear while braking power comes from 130 mm drum brakes at the front and an 110 mm unit at the rear. TVS is offering the Sport in five colour options inclusive of red, black, white, blue and mercury grey with new contrasting graphics.
