The Buddh International Circuit (BIC) is certainly one of the finest and fastest Formula 1 tracks in the world with names like Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, Mark Webber and Lewis Hamilton having set foot here. While you may not get a chance to drive their tarmac scorching F1 single seater cars in this lifetime, the organisers at BIC have made the ‘Time Trial’ track day available for you on 20th September to come and experience the same thrill while testing your driving or riding skills as well.
Held from time to time, the BIC track day is open to general public that allows enthusiasts from all walks of life to come and hone their skills. All you need to have is a valid driving license and safety gear. For riders, the track day commands for a full leather armoured riding suit complete with gloves, boots and helmet that is ISI certified or Snell approved. For cars drivers and passengers, the seatbelt should be buckled up at all times while a helmet is mandatory as well. All cars entering the event are safety inspected.
Enthusiasts can avail for a 45 minute single session on the track that costs Rs. 5000/- for cars and Rs. 4500/- for motorcycles, while a maximum of three sessions can be availed. You can also opt to take a Taxi Ride at Rs. 1600/- per person in a Mercedes sitting with certified drivers that give you a thrill of the circuit. For the more enthusiastic ones, you can opt to rent the Volkswagen Polo for Rs. 12,000/- for a 20 minute session under the Arrive and Drive option.
Attending an event like this allows enthusiasts and regular drivers alike to understand their cars more effectively and let them explore their true capabilities. You get to learn from professional driving instructors, improve on driving techniques and most of all have an amazing time doing the same.
