Japanese automaker Honda has launched the Amaze and Mobilio Celebration Edition in India. These limited edition models come with certain additional accessories.
It is that time of the year when every car manufacturer wants to come up with limited editions of their vehicles. Honda has joined the bandwagon with the Amaze and Mobilio Celebration Edition. As usual, such editions only come with body decals and certain accessories. The Amaze and Mobilio Celebration Edition are offered with features like body graphics, premium upholstery with designer seat covers and cushions, steering wheel cover and floor mats. The vehicles will also get a Celebration Edition emblem on the tailgate and that’s it. These are the only accessories offered on the Amaze and Mobilio limited editions and we wonder if these are enough for the customers to prefer this special edition.
The Honda Amaze and Mobilio will be offered across all variants but only in two colours – Taffeta White and Orchid White Pearl. The Amaze is powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that produces 87 BHP of power and 107 Nm of torque while the Mobilio gets the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine from the City. This engine churns out 118 horses and 145 Nm of torque. The vehicles also benefit from a 1.5-litre EarthDreams i-DTEC diesel engine capable of belting out 99 BHP and 200 Nm. Both the cars get a 5-speed manual transmission and the Amaze also gets an automatic gearbox with the petrol engine.
Such limited editions make little sense because these accessories are also available in the after-market. Most customers want to fit accessories of their own choice and give some exclusivity to their vehicle rather than opting for pre-fitted stuff. However, customers who are not much into modifications and accessories are the ones who prefer picking such limited editions because it saves them the effort of buying additional equipment later on.
