The Rapid Anniversary Edition adds new accessories to the exteriors and interiors for a distinctive appearance and also gets a car tracking device as standard on the top-end Elegance trim.
Skoda India has launched the 2015 Rapid Anniversary Edition in India with prices starting at Rs. 6.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new edition comes with a host of new accessories and features that the company says will enhance the ownership experience for customers. Lending some sportiness to the sedan, the Anniversary Edition adds side door foils, contrasting coloured roof finished in black and wood decor interior trim inside the cabin. The range-topping Elegance Plus variant also features the ‘TrackPro’ car tracking device that helps the owner keep a track of his vehicle at all times.
In addition to the slew of cosmetic changes, the 2015 Skoda Rapid Anniversary Edition comes with the 7-speed DSG automatic transmission with Tiptronic manual gear changing, adjustable dual AC vents on the rear console, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, projector headlamps, a 2-DIN integrated audio player with Bluetooth connectivity for phone, audio streaming, remote control via a phone app and lastly cruise control. The TrackPro device comes with a phone app that gives you a host of information about the car which can be obtained through SMS like record vehicle trip history, assign over speed limit and boundary alerts; update tracking configurations including owner’s number and vehicle registration IDs among other things.
The mechanicals get no changes on the Skoda Rapid Anniversary Edition with diesel power coming from a 1.5-litre TDI motor producing 105 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque, while the petrol variants use a 1.6-litre MPI engine churning out 105 PS of power and a torque output of 153 Nm. Skoda is also offering dual front airbags as standard across all variants of the Rapid Anniversary Edition. The limited edition model will be available across all 67 sales outlets in the country by the end of this month.
