MV Agusta has confirmed its Indian entry which it is doing in collaboration with the Kinetic Group. We now have the major Italian superbike brands in India including Ducati, Benelli and Aprilia.
It’s official. Kinetic Group has just announced its plans to bring MV Agusta superbikes to India with the first launch set for November 2015. The company will offer bikes powered by 800cc to 1078cc engines, with prices starting at Rs. 12 lakhs, going up to Rs. 33 lakhs for the flagship F4 model. The Pune based Kinetic Group will set up a dealership network to retail MV Agusta bikes across the country. It will also support after-sales operations, making it very peaceful for people to buy MV Agusta bikes in the Indian sub-continent.
Although late to the party, MV Agusta isn’t very late either considering its Italian peer, Ducati just re-entered the Indian market a couple of months back. The launch of bikes from the MV Agusta stable will be in a phased manner, thus not all products will go on sale immediately. Instead, the complete line-up will be brought to India in the next three years. The bikes will be brought down via the CBU route while some of them will also be locally assembled using the semi-knocked down method (SKD).
Experts from the company are already working on the formalities to launch the Italian bikes in the country, including homologation. MV Agusta has a range of exiting bikes in its portfolio which include the Brutale (675, 800, 800 Dragster, 1090), Rivale 800, Stradale 800, Turismo Veloce 800 and of course the F3 (675, 800) and F4. What makes the MV Agusta F4 such a cracker of a bike? The limited edition RC variant produces a maddening 212 HP of power at 13,600 RPM. But considering only 250 units are offered, it’s doubtful we will get the Reparto Corse here, instead being offered the regular F4 and the F4 RC.
