After the outburst of spy pictures, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga facelift has been revealed completely and it gets as many as 29 changes.
The Maruti Ertiga is one of the hottest-selling MPVs in India as well as some other global markets. The vehicle was first launched a few years ago and now the company is gearing up to launch the Ertiga facelift in a couple of months. The facelift is long due since the current model has been around for more than three years. This time, the facelift is quite significant and the vehicle gets a lot of cosmetic changes as well as additions to the equipment list. Talking about the exteriors, the front of the new Ertiga has an undeniable resemblance to its rival, the Honda Mobilio. The rear also has a resemblance to its other rival, the Toyota Innova.
The automaker has loaded the vehicle with a lot of chrome on the outside. The front grille gets three chrome slats and the fog lamp surrounds also have chrome trims. The rear also gets a large chrome garnish and new reflectors stuck on the tailgate. The side profile doesn’t seem to have any noticeable changes. The vehicle gets new electrically-folding ORVMs now. Moving to the interiors, again the overall layout is pretty much the same but there are some changes. The audio system features a new head-unit, auto-up power window, 3rd row 50:50 split seats and a charging socket in the second row.
The colour scheme of the interiors has been given a slight tweak too in a different shade of beige. Overall, there are 29 changes that have been made to the Ertiga facelift. The Ertiga is powered by a 1.4-litre petrol engine that produces 94 PS of power at 6000 RPM but the new model surprisingly produces 92 PS of power at 6000 RPM. Knowing Maruti Suzuki, this is most likely done to improve the fuel efficiency. The gear ratio has also been changed to 0.769.
The Maruti Ertiga is priced between Rs. 6-8.72 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the new model will be pricier by Rs. 35,000-40,000/-. The MPV has been a hit in India thanks to the fact that it is a very value-for-money offering. While not everyone might like the overdose of chrome on the facelift, people are sure going to appreciate the company for adding new features. The Maruti Ertiga facelift will be launched in India by mid-October and it competes with a lot of other MPVs like the Chevrolet Enjoy, Nissan Evalia, Renault Lodgy, Honda Mobilio and of course the Toyota Innova.
