Kawasaki is working on the next generation version of its popular superbike, the ZX-10R which will be launched next year and will get major improvements over the current version.
The words Kawasaki and superbike go hand in hand as it is one of the most popular superbike brands in the world. Manufacturing brilliant bikes right from the entry level performance machine all the way up to the tech-rich H2, the Japanese brand is followed madly by many enthusiasts. One of the very popular bikes of the brand is the ZX-10R which comes with a stonker of an engine and breathtaking looks already. However, as they say advancement is the name of the game and so Kawasaki has decided to update the said bike and will launch the next generation model as early as next year.
Considering how strict World Superbike Championship rules have become, more and more brands are producing street-legal superbikes which are very close to the race machine. The amount of tweaks and modifications to be made to the race bikes have been limited and this has prompted the manufacturers to build excellent base bikes which satisfy the normal customers very well too. Expect the ZX-10R to be track ready out of the box which will make it a brilliant proposition for the ones who do intend to hit the track once in a while. Ride to the track, enjoy at the track and ride back home.
While the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is already a beast considering it produces 200 PS of power, the next gen model is likely to make a bit more. It might get an all new variant too with suspension setup suitable mainly for track riding. Building a new bike from scratch is expensive and time consuming hence Kawasaki will be improving the current platform itself by upgrading the chassis, swingarm, engine and the electronics. With competition like Yamaha and BMW having moved to the next level already with their 2015 models, it will be interesting to see Kawasaki battling it out with them next year. Maybe the H2’s supercharged engine in the ZX-10R could make it the new segment king.
