The Renault Lodgy Stepway edition is being termed as India’s first crossover MPV and comes with new black body cladding, roof rails and skid plates for a rugged appeal.
Having introduced the Lodgy MPV in the country earlier this year, Renault India has now launched the Lodgy Stepway Edition with prices starting at Rs. 11.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Stepway Edition was initially showcased at the Paris Motor Show last year and was first unveiled in the country at an award show this January. Over the regular Lodgy variants, the Stepway Edition gets a host of exterior and interior upgrades along with additional equipment on the range-topping RxZ trim. Renault calls the Lodgy Stepway India’s first MPV crossover.
Compared to the regular variant, exterior changes on the Renault Lodgy Stepway edition include the ‘jewel studded’ front grille finished in elements of chrome, black cladding on the front and rear bumper as well as the wheel arches with chrome finish on the sides; black and satin chrome finish on the roof rails and new anthracite finished alloy wheels. You also get fog lamp garnish with chrome satin finish, new chrome finished scuff plates and the Stepway decal on the front doors.
Inside the cabin, the Renault Lodgy Stepway edition boasts of the highest level of equipment including a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation; USB, Bluetooth and AUX connectivity, speed sensitive volume control, rear parking sensors and rear-view camera with guidelines, multi-function steering wheel, headlight turn on reminder and air-con vents for all three rows. The seats get finished in leather blended upholstery that lend a premium look to the cabin.
The Renault Lodgy Stepway is available in two variants, namely the RxZ 8-seater as well as the RxZ 7-seater. Both the versions draw power from the same 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine producing 110 PS and 245 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. The automaker stated that with the Stepway edition, the Lodgy will be appealing to a wider and more diverse set of customers in the country. Much like the standard versions, the Stepway edition too returns an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 19.98 km/l. Sales for the new Lodgy Stepway edition have commenced across all Renault dealerships from today.
