The Hyundai Creta will be launched in India in July this year and will be sharing several components with other Hyundai offerings including the Elite i20 and Verna sedan.
Hyundai India will be making a huge splash this year as it is all set to join the compact SUV bandwagon with the Creta next month. Launched in China in 2014 as the ix25, the South Korean automaker has officially unveiled the India spec Creta compact SUV in these sketches, providing clearer perspective on the design and features of Hyundai’s smallest SUV in the country. Much like the manufacturer’s new age models, the Creta adopts the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 Design philosophy that has evolved over time, thereby adding a modern and premium touch to the vehicle.
The 2015 Hyundai Creta sports a bold front fascia comprising of a singular hexagonal grille, sleek headlights, and a sharp side profile that merges into the sporty rear section. Hyundai says that the hidden A-pillar design was applied to create a dynamic image on the compact SUV while also providing a more open and airy cabin. Moving to the inside, the sketches show that the cabin shares striking similarities with the Elite i20 and features a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, twin dials with an MID unit on the instrument console and vertically stacked air-con vents. The infotainment system also comes from the new i20.
Coming to the dimensions, the Hyundai Creta measures 4270 mm in length, 1780 mm in width and 1630 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2590 mm. Power will be coming from the 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine options under the hood that are currently seen on the Verna sedan. Locking horns with the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and the upcoming Maruti S-Cross in the segment, the Creta is scheduled to be launched on 21st July in the country with prices starting around Rs. 8 lakhs (ex-showroom).
