Piaggio has tied up with internet e-commerce giant Snapdeal.com that allows customers to book Vespa scooters online and joins Hero MotoCorp and Mahindra 2-Wheelers on the website.
E-commerce is one of the fastest growing businesses in the country and the automotive world too is looking forward to sell its offerings online in recent times. After Mahindra and Hero MotoCorp, it is now the Piaggio Group that has tied up with e-commerce website Snapdeal.com to sell its range of Vespa scooters including the Vespa VX, Vespa S and Vespa Elegant online and the scooters can now be booked at a click of a button for a booking amount of Rs. 5000/-.
The ex-showroom prices for every city have been listed on the website and customers can choose the Vespa scooter of their choice and pay the booking amount via an online transaction. After making this booking, which is non-cancellable, the customer will be asked to go to the allocated Piaggio dealership to complete the documentation and pay the balance amount (on-road price minus the Rs. 5000/- booking amount). The vehicle delivery though will be available on the same day or within two to five days, depending on the stock with the dealer.
In addition, the first 100 customers will also get Rs. 2000/- Snapdeal cash from the website, 30 days after completing the scooter’s purchase. Certainly a win-win situation for all, Snapdeal stated that its automotive category has grown at an incredible pace in the past one year and the company is optimistic that the collaboration with Piaggio will take its relationship with customers to the next level. Apart from Piaggio, Hero MotoCorp and Mahindra 2-Wheelers also collaborated with Snapdeal last year and have been retailing its entire motorcycle and scooter range online.
