Suzuki India will be bringing in two new superbikes this year including the GSX-S1000 and S1000F that share its underpinnings with the GSX-R1000.
Suzuki India has updated its website with two new superbikes, the GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F that will hit the market in the following weeks. Expected to be launched in June, the company website display’s all the vital details on both the superbikes that will join the highly acclaimed Hayabusa and the GSX-1000R in the company’s stable. Both the bikes also share their powertrain with the real fun GSX-1000R but have received mild tweaks for the different style of riding.
Starting with the Suzuki GSX-S1000, the high-performance street-fighter superbike comes with an extremely aggressive styling with a neatly sculpted fuel tank, split seats and an exposed engine. The bike does get an engine cowl and small fenders at the sides add a neat touch to the design. The wide handlebar on the S1000 does offer a less sporty riding position which makes it comfortable for long rides. Coming to the GSX-S1000F, the superbike is a proper tourer complete with twin headlamps, full fairing and a raised handlebar. Suzuki has branded both the bikes as ‘built for real world excitement’.
In terms of power, the Suzuki GSX-S1000 and S1000F use the 999cc inline four-cylinder motor tuned to produce around 145 HP of power at around 9500 RPM and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The bikes come loaded with tech wizardry including three-mode traction control system, engine management system, all digital instrument cluster and ABS. Suzuki is aiming to sell around 400 units of superbikes this year and the two new motorcycles should help the company achieve the above mentioned number quite easily.
