Honda has launched the Jazz Shuttle MPV exclusively for Japan initially. The new offering is based on the Honda Jazz platform.
Based on the latest generation Honda Jazz hatchback, the Japanese automaker has introduced the Honda Jazz Shuttle MPV. It is basically a stretched version of the Jazz just like the Mobilio in India based on the Brio platform. The styling is typical Honda, carrying the latest design language with sharp creases and a sleek profile. The design is a mixed bag of Jazz and City both inside out. The front end gets the signature chrome grille and bigger headlamp cluster and the bumper gets a wave pattern. The side profile shows the stretched avatar of the Jazz having Mobilio-esque treatment for the C-pillar.
The Jazz Shuttle’s rear profile stands out because of the distinctly styled tail lamps and tailgate that doesn’t look boxy unlike conventional MPVs. Most of the interior styling and elements are shared from the Jazz and City with some premium touches such as dark wood trims with silver highlights. Honda is known for offering spacious cabin and same is the case with the Jazz Shuttle. Second and third rows fold down flat to liberate huge amount of space. It is loaded with equipment such as cruise control, navigation, smart key system, heated front seats, touchscreen audio, etc.
Powering the Honda Jazz Shuttle is a 1.5-litre Atkiinson-cycle 4-cylinder petrol engine paired to an electric motor for the hybrid version that comes mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission with all-wheel drive layout. It is also available with the regular 1.5-litre petrol unit powering the front wheels. We don’t expect the Jazz Shuttle to launch in India in the near future. The Jazz hatchback is already running behind the scheduled time of its launch in India but will finally go on sale by July this year.
