Tata Bolt Sport revealed at the Geneva Motor Show with sporty styling cues, revised interior, more power, reworked suspension setup and more powerful brakes.
Tata Motors has revealed the more powerful Tata Bolt Sport at the ongoing 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The performance oriented Bolt gets significant mechanical changes with updated exteriors for a sporty new look. The front profile gets a heavily sculpted bumper with large airdam, angular fog lamps housing and lower bumper lip. The side peofile of the Bolt Sport gets a revised fender with air scoops, which is a nice touch and large 17-inch alloy wheels with sporty diamond cut styling.
The Tata Bolt Sport gets a bigger spoiler at the back and a sharp bumper with neatly chiseled lines and dual exhaust pipes. The Bolt looks very sporty compared to the regular model and unlike many sporty variants offered by other manufacturers in India, the Bolt Sport offers serious performance and style. The interiors get all-black leather upholstery with red contrast stitching and sport pedals. It also gets a sunroof and Harman touch screen with voice recognition and SMS readouts.
Powering the Tata Bolt is the same 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged petrol engine. However, the Bolt Sport gets a larger turbocharger with a remapped ECU and a high-flow exhaust system that makes it produce more power and torque. The Revotron engine now produces 120 BHP (30 BHP more) of power at a higher 5500 RPM with 170 Nm (30 Nm more) of torque at a higher 2000-3500 RPM, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The Tata Bolt Sport gets different gear ratios and a more responsive final drive. The suspension also gets major tweaks with a lower ride height for better handling and a stiffer track-tuned system. It also gets a higher-performance brake upgrade kit with new brake pads. We can expect Tata Motors to launch the Bolt Sport later this year in India. Also, 90 BHP version of the diesel engine can be expected with the Bolt Sport. Considering the already expensive price tag of the Bolt, the Bolt Sport is bound to get way more pricy.
