Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS parts have been found in a market in Mumbai. The parts are from test mules which would have crashed during the test runs.
Would you be amazed if you see second hand parts of a bike which is yet to be launched in the Indian market? We have recently got a couple of pictures from our reader Mr. Super Sports who spotted the front fairing and the tail light of the soon-to-be launched Pulsar 200 SS at a shop in Kurla, Mumbai. Those familiar with the area would know that it is a market where finding second hand parts of any vehicle is very easy and one can even find parts which are hard to get at authorised service centres!
The front fairing of the Pulsar 200 SS is camouflaged and it looks as if the tail light assembly snapped off. We suspect that these parts were flicked from the crash site where one of the test mules would have crashed. We are surprised that Bajaj didn’t bother cleaning up the wreckage as soon as possible because normally manufacturers try and hide the wreckage of a test mule because it might result in bad publicity. Considering that the bike is being tested a lot, the possibility of it crashing is relatively high.
The Pulsar 200 SS would soon be launched in India. It will share most of the parts with the 200 NS on which it is based. It will be using the same 199.5cc engine but would come with fuel-injection in order to add a bit more power and a lot more refinement. The Indian automaker will also be adding a dual-channel ABS option to the 200 SS lineup in order to make it safer. The full-faired bike is expected to be priced around Rs. 1.35 lakhs and will compete with the Yamaha R15 and the KTM RC 200. Bajaj is also working on the Pulsar 200 AS to tap the rapidly growing adventure touring market.
