The new Maruti Ertiga gets revised front fascia with a new chrome grille, bumper, new alloys and updated features inside the cabin.
As part of the six model updates planned for the year, Maruti Suzuki will be inducing a fresh new life into the Ertiga with a facelift and the updated model was recently caught testing completely undisguised revealing the new front fascia of the MPV. The Ertiga now gets a three-slat horizontal chrome grille dawning the front that gives the car a wider appearance along with larger air intakes and chrome inserts on the fog lamp enclosure. The alloy wheels for higher variants and wheel covers for the lower variants are also new on the Honda Mobilio rival.
The side profile retains the existing look while the rear (not photographed) is expected to get subtle updates to the tailgate with additional chrome complimenting the new front. The changes in a way can be said to have come from customer feedback. With the chrome induced aftermarket grille seen on a host of Ertigas around the country, it seems Maruti thought it was appropriate to offer a factory fitted unit instead, with an equal amount of bling on offer.
In addition to the external updates, the updated Maruti Ertiga is expected to get feature additions inside the cabin including new upholstery, touchscreen audio system to take on the AVN unit seen on the Mobilio with Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity; automatic climate control as well as more safety features on offer. Major updates to the 1.4-litre K-Series and 1.3-litre DDiS engines are unlikely but could get slightly tweaked for improved fuel efficiency.
Scheduled to be launched in June this year, the updates on the 2015 Maruti Ertiga will certainly help the Indian auto giant retain the sales momentum in the coming years as well. With new competition coming in the MPV space, the Ertiga has been facing the heat but has managed to retain its sales numbers averaging around 4800 month-on-month last year.
