The 2015 Volvo XC90 will be launched in March and will be brought in via the CBU route with deliveries to start in September.
Volvo India dealers across the country have started accepted bookings for the 2015 XC90 luxury SUV at an amount of Rs. 10 lakhs (refundable). The newest flagship SUV to come from the Swedish manufacturer, the 2015 XC90 will be launched in March and will be displayed during the month while deliveries are set to commence in September this year. Dealers suggest that Volvo has already imported 20 units of the SUV in the range-topping variant with 11 units already been booked.
Unveiled in August last year, the new generation Volvo XC90 is based on the new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) modular platform and will be competing against the Mercedes GL-Class (GLS) and the upcoming Audi Q7 in the segment. While the international version gets three engines on offer, the India spec XC90 will be available in a single drivetrain powered by the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder, twin-turbocharged D5 diesel engine producing 225 BHP of power and 470 Nm of torque, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission with power being sent to all four wheels.
In addition, the 2016 Volvo XC90 will come equipped with a host of safety features including the Run-off road protection package and Intersection braking system on offer. The SUV will also come loaded with a plethora of features like Android Auto or Apple Car Play, 4-zone climate control, a 1400 watt 19-speaker audio system from Bowers & Wilkins and a panoramic sunroof. The 2015 XC90 is expected to come with an introductory price tag of Rs. 85 lakhs when it goes on sale in March, which will later be increased to 90-95 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom).
