Hyundai Santa Fe facelift has been spied testing in South Korea. A new e-4WD hybrid version is expected to be launched in the next few months internationally.
Hyundai is all set to introduce a hybrid version of the Santa Fe in the international market in the next few months. The premium SUV has recently been caught testing in South Korea with camouflage. This indicates that the new hybrid version will be introduced in a facelifted avatar of the Hyundai Santa Fe. The environment friendly Santa Fe will come with a new electric drive module mounted on the rear wheels. This new technology will be termed as e-4WD by Hyundai.
The 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid will come with a petrol engine that will power the front wheels, while the electric motor will transmit the power to the rear wheels, smart enough. It will get regenerative braking system to charge the battery while deceleration and braking. The Santa Fe Hybrid will come with different modes and the e-4WD will be selectively controllable depending on the road conditions. Since the hybrid technology isn’t accepted well in our market, we don’t expect Hyundai India to introduce the new variant.
We can expect the Korean carmaker to introduce the facelift though. The 2016 model year Santa Fe will get a new set of headlamps and tail lamps with revised LED detailing. The bumpers will get refreshed having new fog lamps styling. We can even see front parking sensors in the spy shots. Along with the exteriors, we can expect slightly reworked interiors and new equipment on the upcoming offering. For the time being, Hyundai has planned to launch the Verna facelift in February followed by the i20 Cross in March.
