Hero MotoCorp is taking the fight to TVS and Honda in the scooter space with the Dash 110cc that will be feature loaded. It is due for launch by April.
Hero MotoCorp continues testing the Dash 110 scooter that will be the Indian auto giant’s next major offering in the mass market scooter space. First showcased in late 2013, the Dash was caught testing with heavy camouflage and will be a feature loaded product to rival the likes of the TVS Jupiter, Mahindra Gusto and Suzuki’s Let’s in the segment. Spotted in the spy shots here is the external fuel filler lid on the Dash resting between the LED tail lights, one of the key features on the upcoming scooter.
Located right below the grab rails, the fuel filler cap comes covered with a close-able lid that keeps its location safe. Moreover, the lid will also ensure a clean design at the rear unlike the TVS Jupiter. Apart from the external fuel filler, the Dash will be loaded with goodies including a 12V mobile charging socket, low fuel and side stand indicator warning light on the instrument console, dual tone mirrors and an under-seat storage light. The fuel tank capacity is measured at 6-litres.
Power on the other hand is set to come from a 111cc engine producing 8.44 BHP and 9.4 Nm of torque, paired to a CVT transmission. Suspension duties will be performed by 30 mm telescopic front forks and a single adjustable hydraulic shock absorber at the rear, while stopping power will come from 130 mm drum brakes at the front and rear. In addition, an integrated braking system is also likely to feature on the scooter, similar to Honda’s Combi Braking System (CBS). A price of around Rs. 55,000/- can be expected on the Dash (ex-showroom) with the launch set for April this year.
