The export spec Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS also gets fuel-injection system, while ABS is now confirmed. ABS however has not been confirmed for the India spec model.
The Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS has been more or less revealed on several occasions, while the export model was also revealed to dealers in Turkey last month. These new latest spy shots of the export spec model from Columbia gives you a complete view of the Pulsar 200 SS without any inhibitions, while an all-new detail is also out that will certainly please Pulsar lovers, overseas at least. Seen here is the Pulsar 200 SS done up in a dual-tone yellow and black paint scheme and is equipped with ABS, which is evident from the tone rings on the wheel. What is questionable though is whether Bajaj will offer ABS as standard on the India spec model or will it limit the safety system for export markets alone?
While the Pulsar 200 NS or the KTM RC 200 have not been offered with ABS, even as an option; Bajaj would want to offer the same on the Indian spec Pulsar 200 SS, making it a feature rich offering from the company. Apart from the radical new design complete with a full 400 SS inspired fairing, the inclusion of ABS creates a larger differentiation between the 200 NS and SS models, thereby also compensating handsomely for the premium price tag of the 200 SS.
Another differentiating factor between the Indian and export spec is the inclusion of fuel-injection (FI) system. While both the models use the same 199.5cc single-cylinder engine, the export models gets FI bumping up the power to 24.4 PS, while the Indian version will get a marginal increase in power pushed to 23.70 PS. Even though engine details have not been confirmed by Bajaj yet, it will be interesting to see the list of features that the two-wheeler maker will offer on its new flagship motorcycle. The 200 SS has been confirmed for launch in early 2015.
