Both the Swift and Alto are Maruti’s bestselling products that received major upgrades earlier this month with new features and improved mechanicals.
Having launched completely revised versions of its two bestselling hatchbacks earlier this month, Maruti Suzuki has now launched new TV commercials for the 2015 Swift and Alto K10 in the country that showcase the newest set of features available on both the models. Targeted at a younger audience spread across different geographies, the new Swift TVC addresses to a premium and city bred crowd comprising mostly of individuals, while the the Alto K10 TVC is targeted at first time car buyers inclusive of young couples or families.

Coming to the new products itself, both the Swift and Alto K10 have received comprehensive changes this year. Starting with the Swift, the model has received some serious feature upgrades including start-stop button, keyless entry, automatic climate control, height adjustable driver’s seat, updated audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, reverse parking sensors and a lot more. The model has also been updated with dual front airbags, improved ABS with EBD and Boost Assist System that is available on the top variants.
The 2015 Swift is powered by the same 1.2-litre K-Series petrol motor now tuned to produce 84.3 PS of power (87 PS on older model) and 115 Nm of torque, while the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine retains the same power output at 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque. The engines however are also tuned to offer improved fuel economy over the predecessor with the petrol motor returning an ARAI certified figure of 20.4 km/l and the diesel returns a healthy 25.2 km/l. Both the engines come paired to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard.

The 2015 Maruti Alto K10 on the other hand gets a completely redesigned body shell taking inspiration from the new Alto 800 and Celerio, while the interiors are a lot more premium over the predecessor. In terms of features, the model has been loaded with 2-DIN audio system with USB and AUX connectivity, fog lights, power steering and front power windows, while the cabin itself is larger than before with improved headroom and legroom on offer.
The new Alto K10 gets the same 1.0-litre 3-cylinder K-Series engine producing 68 PS and 90 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine is now also paired with a 5-speed AMT gearbox from the Celerio that offers relaxed driving especially in the heavily crowded city areas. In addition, Maruti has also worked on the ride quality for improved comfort, while fuel efficiency has been improved as well with the Alto K10 now returning 24.07 km/l on both the manual and AMT equipped versions.
