The Benelli TNT 899 and TNT 1130R are high performance bikes from the Italian automaker and will compete with offerings from Triumph, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Suzuki and the likes in the segment.
Moving on to Benelli’s high performance range, the Italian manufacturer confirmed the TNT 899 and TNT 1130R motorcycles that will be launched in the coming months. Both the models will be competing against the offerings from the Kawasaki, Triumph, Yamaha, Harley-Davidson and the likes in the premium range. Here is a quick showdown of both the performance bikes that will be launched in the coming months.
The Benelli TNT 899 is a street-fighter motorcycle that will be primarily competing against the Kawasaki Z800. The company states it as a fun to ride offering and is certainly a stunning looker in terms of face value. The Italian styling is pure eye candy with the naked aggressive stance and gets a carbon muffler, front and rear carbon mudguards, carbon belly pans, carbon chain casing, frame sliders, racing tank filler and carbon single-seat tail. With a kerb weight of 215 kgs, the bike will also provide an excellent power to weight ratio.
With the frame made of steel trestle, the TNT 899 is powered by an 899cc in-line 3-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC that produces 120 PS of power at 9500 RPM and 88 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are performed by 50 mm upside-down forks at the front and steel tube trestle swing arm with hydraulic adjustment at the rear. Stopping power comes from twin 320 mm wave discs with 4 piston callipers at the front and single 240 mm disc with 2 piston callipers the rear. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 120/65 and 190/55 tyre at the front and rear respectively.
Moving to the bigger TNT 1130R, the bike has been tuned to offer the best on the road and track. Same as the TNT 899 in design, the street-fighter sports a bigger powerplant that offers breathtaking performance. The TNT 1130R is powered by a 1131cc in-line 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that produces 157 PS at 10,200 RPM and 120 Nm of torque at 8400 RPM, married to a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are performed by 50 mm Marzocchi upside-down fully adjustable forks and ZF Sachs rear shock with full adjustability in order to increase performance. The bike’s 1443 mm wheelbase also makes it quite agile.
In addition, stopping power comes from the twin 320 mm wave discs with Brembo sourced 4 piston callipers and a single 240 mm wave disc at the rear with double piston calliper. Riding on 17-inch aluminium alloys, the rims are wrapped in 120/70 tyre at the front and 190/55 tyre at the rear. The TNT 1130R will be the flagship bike on offer from Benelli and will be brought in via the CKD method to offer the bikes at competitive pricing. With Benelli’s illustrious portfolio, the Italian manufacturer might just have the trump card up its sleeve to make it big in the growing performance segments.
