Adding to its Indian lineup, the Harley-Davidson CVO Limited will be brought in as a CBU in the country, while the Breakout is expected to be locally assembled.
Doing extremely well in the country, Harley-Davidson is all set to expand its lineup further with the launch of two new motorcycles that will be making in-roads on 30th October. The American manufacturer posted this teaser image on its official Facebook page which includes the 2015 CVO Limited as well as the 2015 Breakout Softail that will be brought into the country via the CBU and a CKD routes respectively. Here’s a quick look at both the motorcycles that will be commanding the roads soon.
Starting with the 2015 CVO Limited, the tourer is part of CVO or Custom Vehicle Operations, the division at Harley-Davidson that produces highly customized products. The CVO Limited is powered by a Twin-Cooled, Twin Cam 110 1801cc V-Twin engine that produces 156 Nm of peak torque, paired a 6-speed gearbox. The tourer is also feature packed with the latest goodies including LED headlamps, ABS Brembo brakes, chrome finished cycle parts, 2-in-1 exhaust as well as an optional dual-paint scheme. You also get adjustable seats and handle bar, colour coordinated saddle bags and stiffer 49 mm forks on offer. Drawing exclusivity to its owner, the CVO Limited comes at a price tag of under $40,000 (Rs. 24.5 lakhs) in the US and is expected to be priced at a whopping Rs. 50 lakhs (ex-showroom) in the country, being a CBU.
The 2015 Harley Breakout will be the more affordable between the two. A Softail, the Breakout looks absolutely stunning and is certainly a showstopper in every garage. Powering the Breakout is a Twin Cam 103B 1690cc air-cooled engine producing 130 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Taking inspiration from drag motorcycles, the Breakout gets fat forks, a slender fuel tank, twin exhausts and the tastefully done black alloys. Available as a two-seater, the pillion seat on the Breakout can also be removed if you plan to ride solo. Positioned above the Fat Boy in Harley’s lineup, the Breakout is expected to be priced around Rs. 17 lakhs (ex-showroom) and will be locally assembled at the company’s facility.
Apart from the two new launches, Harley-Davidson is also expected to announce new dealerships at Surat and Bangalore. The manufacturer currently has 13 dealerships across the country, with the number escalating to 15 once the new dealerships are operational. Furthermore, speculations suggest there is a possibility of a third tourer that will also be launched along with the 2015 CVO Limited and Breakout on 30th October; however details are very scarce as of now.
