The Pajero Sport Special Edition gets the addition of new features and a two-tone paint job reminiscent of the original Pajero that was sold in the country earlier.
Banking to get some sales around the festive season, Mitsubishi has introduced a special edition version of its flagship Pajero Sport SUV in the country that gets a number of features added to the cabin, while the exteriors get a new dual-tone paint scheme. The new dual-tone paint scheme also takes prominence because of its relevance to the old school Pajero that was sold earlier in the country. It can be said that Mitsubishi is trying to get nostalgic for Pajero lovers with the limited edition model.
Buyers can choose from the option of red, yellow and white paint shades. You also get new ORVM mounted turn indicators and limited edition badges at the rear. On the inside, there is the inclusion of a DVD system with two screens for rear passengers and a chiller in the boot. In terms of powertrain, the Pajero Sport gets no changes and continues to draw power from the same 2.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine that produces 175 BHP, paired to a 5-speed gearbox, sending power to all four wheels via an all-wheel drive system.
The very capable Pajero has not been a brisk seller in the country mainly because of Mitsubishi’s lack luster focus on the Indian market. The SUV competes against the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, SsangYong Rexton and the likes in the segment. While the limited edition may not change the Pajero’s fortunes over night; nonetheless, Mitsubishi just might be able to gain some sales from a few nostalgic buyers. The Pajero Sport has been priced at Rs. 23.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
