The Suzuki GSX-R1000 is a fully-faired superbike that packs in a great punch and delivers amazing performance that would bring a smile to your face whenever you ride it. There were some rumours that Suzuki might come out with a naked version of the GSX by the end of this year. It seems that the rumours weren’t false and that is because the Suzuki GSX-S1000 has been spotted during a photoshoot that was taking place in the US. The GSX-S1000 is the naked version of the GSX-R1000.
The Suzuki GSX-S1000 has a very aggressive design language. The bike looks good on all aspects. The front fascia has a sharp design and the headlights and its surrounds carry a very striking look. When viewed head-on, the bike looks menacing and it will definitely grab eyeballs. The side profile too carries a design that has nothing to complain about. The tank is nicely designed while the small fairing components on the side and at the bottom add that sporty touch to the GSX-S1000. The exhaust is stout and the rear seat is compact.
Even though Suzuki hasn’t revealed official specifications and figures for its latest product, we can say that it will be powered by the same 1000cc 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine. The motor might get a newer state of tune though. The GSX-S1000 features a slightly more upright riding position. Suzuki will add ABS and traction control for enhanced safety too. The braking system is again provided by Brembo. The Suzuki GSX-S1000 will compete with the Kawasaki Z1000, Yamaha FZ-1, BMW S1000R and Honda CB1000R.
Suzuki will start showcasing the GSX-S1000 later this year and there is a high possibility of it getting launched in India. The GSX-R1000 is available in India at a price of Rs. 15.95 lakhs (ex-showroom). It remains to be seen if this Suzuki street-fighter can beat the talk of the segment, the KTM 1290 Super Duke R.
