Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has introduced the 2014 edition of the CB Shine 125cc motorcycle in the country. India’s largest selling 125cc motorcycle, changes on the 2014 CB Shine include new body graphics and availablity in two new colours namely Pearl Amazing White and Dual Tone Red and Black. The new dual-tone shades come in addition to the existing black, Geny Grey Metallic and Rebel Red Metallic colours. The new dual tone colour schemes will be available at no additional cost.
Launched in 2006 in India, the CB Shine has been a consistent seller for Honda in the country and has been holding onto the leading position in the segment. Honda states that the CB Shine has been the choice of over 30 lakh customers in the country till date and is India’s all-time highest selling 125cc motorcycle, and has also gone further to become the number one motorcycle across Honda’s two-wheeler operations worldwide for the first time in the financial year 2013-14.
The 2014 CB Shine edition receives no changes to the powertrain and comes with the same 125cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 10 HP of power and 11 Nm of torque, paired to a 4-speed transmission. The bike uses spring loaded hydraulic suspensions at the front and rear, while stopping power comes from 240 mm disc brake at the front and a 130 mm drum brake setup at the rear. The bike weighs 120 kgs and returns a claimed efficiency of 65 km/l as per Honda. The Shine is available in 3 variants that are Kick Drum Spoke, Self-Drum Alloy and Self Disc Alloy and the base variant is priced at Rs. 50,615/- (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
