Hyundai launched the Elantra sedan in India in 2012 and the vehicle has been selling in decent numbers all the while. The Korean automaker unveiled the 2014 Elantra last year and that version got some upgrades. The 2014 Elantra featured cosmetic tweaks (with enhancements to the interior) and new alloy wheel designs but this model did not make its way to India yet (expected later this year) and Hyundai has now showcased the 2015 Elantra overseas. The 2015 Elantra gets a host of upgrades such as new features and four new colours.
Hyundai offered a Sport edition for the 2014 Elantra that came with a 2.0-litre petrol engine giving out 173 HP of power. The 2015 Hyundai Elantra will come with an optional Tech package on the Sport variant that comprises of a 7-inch touchscreen entertainment system that also includes satellite navigation and 360-watt audio. Blue Link telematics is also an added feature in this package. The Tech package is available in limited colours and Monaco White is now added to the list of shades that are available for the Tech package. The Tech package has also been renamed to Limited Ultimate and its prices have been reduced by $350.
Hyundai will also make available the Style package for the SE variant. The company claims that this package benefits buyers by offering savings of $400. Black cloth seats, powered sunroof, leather steering wheel and shift knob, LED daytime lights, chrome exterior trim and aluminium front door sills are available in the Style package. The SE Popular Equipment package gets one-touch auto up down window for the driver. The 2015 Elantra also gets the following new shades – Quartz White Pearl, Lakeside Blue, Symphony Silver and Shale Gray Metallic.
In India, the Hyundai Elantra is offered with a 1.8-litre petrol engine and 1.6-litre diesel engine. The 2015 Hyundai Elantra will surely be launched in India by the end of this year or early next year. It competes with the Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla Altis and Renault Fluence.
