To all the Yamaha fans out there waiting to catch a glimpse of the R25 quarter-litre sports bike; the wait might be finally over. Just days after the first spy shots of the Yamaha R25 surfaced on the internet, Pertamax7 is now carrying images of the R25 undisguised revealing the production spec model fresh off the production line. And by what we see in the images, the R25 surely has the looks to kill. The website says that Yamaha has produced 100 units of the sports bike (for testing purposes) and these images come from the final stages of the production process.
Yamaha has got the styling bang on with the R25; the front features the very aggressively styled dual headlamp units, while the tank features a brawny and muscular design seen on the FZ models. The front cowl design certainly takes inspiration from the bigger siblings like the R6, while also taking cues from the Honda CBR600RR and the Triumph Daytona 675 and gives a sharp and sporty design language to the sports bike. The rear features the sharp tapered nose up design, signing off with the LED tail light cluster. As informed in our earlier posts, the R25 will get rear set foot pegs, clip-on handlebars and 140 cross-section rear tyre, wrapped in web-spoke alloy wheel, no USD forks though.
While the specifications and pricing are still under wraps, we do know that the Yamaha R25 is will feature a 250cc twin-cylinder engine tuned to produce around 34 PS of power. By the looks of it, the Yamaha R25 will be a complete game changer in the segment and will be giving nightmares to folks at Honda and Kawasaki. Pertamax7 also suggests that Yamaha will reveal the R25 later this month; however, we still await specific launch date from Yamaha’s official website. An India launch is expected later this year.
