HM and Mitsubishi are finally planning to launch the Lancer Evolution X. The much awaited budget supercar is being launched ever since and this time we hear the launch to be in January at the 2010 Auto Expo. Mitsubishi has been teasing us ever since the Evo IX was showcased at roadshows. Is this the same car which HM term as James Bond like? We know not, but sure it can go fast in a straightline as well as corners.
HM-Mitsubishi are not too ambitious with the sales of the Evo X and are looking at less than 100 units a year. The 2.0-litre turbocharged MIVEC petrol engine produces 280hp of power and accelerates from 0-100kmph in less than five seconds. There are more powerful versions of the Evo but that won’t see the light in India due to bad quality fue…….. blah… blah.
The rally bred racer has Mitsubishi’s well known technologies to add go the show. Super active-yaw control, better known as active wheel control or AWC uses torque vectoring technology to split torque to any of the four wheels depending on the driving condition. The car will be brought in as a CBU and will compete with the Mercedes C-Class, BMW 3 Series and Audi A4.
