Ford is all set to showcase the 2015 Focus sedan at the New York Auto Show and the company has already unveiled pictures of this new sedan. At first glance, the Focus sedan looks very good and well-proportioned. While the front part of the vehicle is derived from the Focus hatchback, Ford has added an external boot and now the Focus will be available as a premium sedan. The Aston Martin inspired front grille also looks very good and we are completely sure that buyers will really find a great amount of appeal when it comes to this car’s design.
Ford has managed to keep the styling classy while also adding a small sporty touch. The alloys look lip-smacking too. The company has given the interiors a very premium feel that can be expected from a vehicle in this segment. The steering wheel is properly-sized and it isn’t too big or too small. The steering wheel is mounted with controls for various functions like audio, mobile phone, etc. The EcoSport comes with the SYNC system and now Ford has added an even better and updated version of SYNC on the new Focus sedan. This updated version of SYNC provides real-time vehicle data, speed, acceleration, location information, etc.
Ford will also offer Blind Spot Assist and lane-keeping system as optional extras with this premium sedan. Powering the 2015 Ford Focus sedan will be the company’s 1.0-litre turbocharged EcoBoost petrol unit which gives out 123 HP of power and 197 Nm of torque. The EcoBoost engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Now coming to the Indian market, the premium sedan segment is seeing some tough competition between the Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Jetta and the Hyundai Elantra. These vehicles will be joined by the new Toyota Corolla very soon.
While the Octavia and Jetta are more driver-oriented cars, the Elantra is loaded with features and the Corolla too is meant for comfort. We are confident about Ford providing a blend of comfort and performance with the Focus sedan and if this vehicle does get launched in India, then rivals will surely get a big reason to worry.
